It's been a awhile...

As the title suggests, I'm not quite sure I literally meant that I'd be posting once a month. Sometimes it's just whatever comes to mind and apparently....nothing's been in my mind. Until now.

SPORTS:
The trade deadline is coming up soon. I don't expect to see anything positive from the Cubs since they are practically out of the race as far as numbers are concerned. The only thing I can see happening is someone like Zambrano or Ramirez being traded to a possible contender. But, the club would only lessen their chances for next year. There, I said it. The only the Cubs can amount any sort of playoff team is to have everyone healthy. We already showed people what the Cubs could do when they had hitting. When the had fielding. AND, when they had starting pitching. We finally got a decent bullpen to keep leads late in the game. But at the beginning of the season, we saw disappointments with Prior and Wood. I think there was too much of a burden placed on a young arm like Wood's. He's a great pitcher and the club didn't preserve it when they needed to and we get the results we have now.

MIDDLE EAST:
We're seeing another fall out in the Mid East involving Lebanon and Israel. These two countries have had an unofficial cease-fire since about 1948...or better yet, they haven't ended the war they started back in that time. It started again when Lebanon kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and Israle hasn't backed down since that happened. I believe that Lebanon is sorely outmatched against Israel. The USA has since sat back for now claiming that it's still not our fight. We remain neutral because its like two 6 year olds fighting. Then the 18 year old older brother, the USA, steps in to help. It's just not fair. We stay back because someone like Iran or North Korea hasn't stepped in yet. But, I don't see that happening yet, if at all. Israel is also a smaller military version of the American military. Their Air Force is quite good and capable of matching with anyone in the Mid-East. Their militaryforces outnumber the Lebanese forces 186,000 to 61,000 or so. The Lebanese military has no Air Force at all. See, it pays to have the USA on your side.
Speaking of this whole thing, the island of Cyprus is the location where Americans and other civilians are being sent to in order to evacuate safely. That is also the place where I was deployed to for about 90 days. Brings back memories.

INTERNET:
There's this little program that Google offers that is quite remarkable. It's called GOOGLE EARTH. You can zoom in, using satellite technology, to about 200 feet above a location and pratically see someone standing in a driveway waving at you. I'm well on my way to marking all the baseball parks in the country.

MOVIES:
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 came out as well as Superman Returns, You, Me, and Dupree, and Miami Vice. All 4 movies I really want to see.

I knew there were some other things that I wanted to mention, but I can't remember what it was. So, this is a good stopping point for now.
